Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arkansas

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years.
The journey to becoming a counselor began when I started teaching elementary school and realized I cared far more about how children were functioning in their lives and homes than their grades. Going through a divorce and becoming a single parent with 3 children under the age of five caused the desire to help those going through psychological, physical and financial turmoil to intensify. The reason I chose a master’s in counseling was originally to become a school counselor. I did that for a brief time before realizing I wanted to go much deeper into helping the children by helping the adults and family who were raising them. Now my amazing children are grown and they are the greatest joy and gift of my life.
I no longer counsel children and only serve adults of every gender and of all ages as they navigate the difficulties and changes that life brings. Dealing with issues such as:
parent education on developmental stages and appropriate discipline and guidance, neurodivergences, ADHD/ADD, OCD, Perfectionism, emotional neglect, young adults launching into the next stage of life, self-esteem, body image, gender confusion and overall identity issues, professional challenges ,grief and loss, emotional regulation, divorce, remarriage, single parenting and blended families, family estrangement, emotional, financial and narcissistic abuse, religious deconstruction and faith curiosity
Currently I am expanding my knowledge base with somatic techniques and the intersection of nutrition and psychological health. There is always so much more to learn! Being able to sit with you while you are navigating these changes and challenges is a profound gift to experience with you. It is incredibly brave to look in the mirror and be curious about who you are and who you want to be. I'm looking forward to going on this journey with you.
